The following are some fAQ regarding the Child Like This program.
Can I send letters or mail packages to the child in India?
While that would be a wonderful gesture, to deliver a letter and translate it to a child in their local dialect is an expense that would take away from the care we can provide for each child. The real cost for relief in India is $30 per child per month, and we have committed these dollars go. Because most of these children live in very remote, tribal areas and do not read English (or even read at all), it is difficult and very labor intensive to get documents translated and then delivered to the child. We simply do not have those resources available right now.
How long is my sponsorship commitment?
Your commitment to the Child Like This program is an ongoing commitment and will continue to go from year to year unless we hear differently from you. We understand circumstances change, and you may have to stop your sponsorship for various reasons. You can also contact the US Office for further assistance. By email: email@example.com, or by phone: 912-208-0993.
How often will I hear updates from CICM?
For all those with email, we will send you a monthly email with a story of one of the children in the program. If you do not have email, a story of one of the Child Like Thischildren will be mailed to you quarterly. If you would like to hear more about what God is doing through CICM, you can also sign up for our general CICM emails.
Can I make one-time contributions?
Yes! There are always needs that fall outside of the $30 monthly commitment, which mainly coversfood, education, and clothing. There are times whenchildren are in need of emergency health care, mosquito nets, sleeping mats, disaster relief and various other necessities. You can make one-time contributions online or by mailing a check to the US Officeaddress. Please designate these funds as “Children’s Ministry” online or in the memo line of a check.
